It's hard to describe parenting - I appreciated your rundown of many of the common things that happen! I know this is a funny post, but it's worth mentioning that raising children - precisely because it challenges you in more ways than you ever thought possible (emotionally, physically, and intellectually) - is the largest growth experience easily available to nearly everyone.

It amazes me that something so challenging is "built into the system."
